How the services fit together

Comprehensive Financial Planning brings all six areas into one plan. If you need help with one area first, each service is also available on its own and can grow into a full plan later.

Your complete financial plan, reviewed as life changes

Recommended for most families

This is the heart of my practice. We look at every part of your financial life together and turn it into one written plan, with clear priorities and specific actions. Then we keep it current through regular reviews.

What's included

  • Financial health check: income, expenses, assets, loans and net worth in one picture.
  • Goals and cash flow: each goal costed and funded, with a budget and emergency fund that work.
  • Investments and protection: an allocation matched to your risk profile, and cover sized to your family's needs.
  • Retirement and estate: how much you need, how to draw from it, and how your wealth passes on.
  • Ongoing reviews: regular check-ins, plus support when life changes.

Who it suits: Individuals and families who want one connected plan, with every decision pulling in the same direction.

Know how much is enough, and how to make it last

Whether retirement is twenty years away or two, the questions are the same: how much do I need, am I on track, and how will I turn savings into a dependable income?

What's included

  • Your retirement number, based on the lifestyle you want and realistic inflation
  • A gap analysis of where you stand today
  • A savings and investment plan to close the gap
  • Healthcare and elderly care planning: health cover that continues into later years, a dedicated medical reserve, and provision for care as you age
  • A withdrawal plan for a steady income that lasts as long as you need it
  • Estate basics: nominations reviewed and a will in place, so your savings pass smoothly to your family (Full estate planning)

Who it suits: professionals with no pension, people within ten years of retirement, and anyone who started saving late.

A clear financial road map for the goals that matter most to you

Whether it's your child's education, buying a home, taking a sabbatical or starting your own practice, we help you estimate the financial requirements of each goal, assess what it will take to fund it, and develop an investment strategy aligned with your time horizon and risk profile.

What's included

  • Future Cost Estimation: Estimate the amount required for each goal, accounting for inflation where relevant.
  • Funding Gap Assessment: Evaluate available resources against the projected cost of each goal and estimate the funding shortfall.
  • Investment Requirement Calculation: Estimate the savings or investment contributions required to work towards each goal under stated assumptions.
  • Goal-Specific Investment Strategy: Recommend an appropriate investment approach based on the goal's time horizon, risk profile and funding requirements.
  • Progress Tracking and Periodic Review: Review progress against the plan and identify when adjustments to contributions, timelines or goal priorities may be needed.

Who it suits: parents planning for education, first-time home buyers, and anyone with one or two clear goals to start with.

The right cover, planned, not sold

Insurance planning protects your family, income, health and assets against unforeseen events. I review your existing life, health, home and other relevant insurance policies, identify gaps in coverage and recommend suitable protection based on your needs and financial circumstances. I am not an Insurance agent.

  • Needs Assessment: Assess your life, health, property and liability protection requirements based on your circumstances.
  • Coverage Adequacy: Review existing policies, insured amounts, benefits, exclusions, waiting periods and limitations.
  • Protection Gap Analysis: Identify potential underinsurance, overlapping coverage and unaddressed risks.
  • Coverage Recommendations: Recommend appropriate types and levels of protection based on your needs, financial commitments and risk exposure.
  • Policy Evaluation: Assess existing policies, including traditional life insurance plans and ULIPs, for suitability, costs and benefits.
  • Review and Updates: Reassess insurance needs when significant life events or financial circumstances change.

Scope Boundary

The service covers insurance needs assessment, existing-policy evaluation and protection recommendations. It does not include selling or distributing insurance policies, processing policy purchases or handling insurance claims. Policy procurement and servicing, where required, must be undertaken through the relevant authorised provider or intermediary.

Who It Suits: Individuals and families who want to ensure their life, health, home and other essential risks are adequately covered, identify gaps or overlaps in existing policies, and receive an independent assessment of their insurance needs.

Specialised planning for doctors and single parents

The six services above apply to everyone. For two groups, I adapt them to the specific financial situations they face.

Financial planning for doctors

Doctors often begin earning later, after years of medical education and training, and may earn from several sources at once. Planning takes these factors into account.

Areas covered

  • Retirement planning that accounts for a later start in earning
  • Cash flow planning for income from salary, practice and consultations
  • Evaluating education, clinic and home loans against other goals
  • Life, health, disability and professional indemnity cover review

Financial planning for single parents

Single parents usually manage a household on one income and make financial decisions on their own. Planning focuses on protecting children and building long-term security.

Areas covered

  • Cash flow and an emergency fund sized for one income
  • Contingency and Life-Transition Planning: Prepare for unexpected expenses, income disruptions and changes in family circumstances, so your child's needs and your financial stability remain central to the plan.
  • Life and health cover sized to protect children
  • Child's Future: Plan for education, major milestones and other financial goals.
  • Your own retirement Plan
  • Financial Organisation and Nomination Review: Organise your financial records, review account and investment nominations, and identify gaps that could complicate access to or transfer of your assets when your family needs them most.
  • Child Care and Future Preparedness: Help document your wishes, care preferences, important contacts and essential financial information for your minor child through a Letter of Intent, supporting continuity of care if you become unable to provide it.
